JULIA LEE
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

EDUCATIONAL
THERAPIST
My research interests include topics related to the acquisition of
language, reading, and spelling and reading interventions for
young children with developmental disorders such as
dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, and specific language
impairment. I am also interested in technology-enabled
solutions for reading assessments and reading intervention.
Additionally, future research topics I would like to investigate
are the emotional, psychosocial, and attentional needs of
children with reading problems. Thus, my scholarly work is
situated at the intersection of the learning sciences, reading
disabilities, and early childhood learning. I aim to conduct
interdisciplinary studies through synergistic collaborations with
colleagues with similar research interests from around the world
to address questions of theoretical importance, practical impact,
and meaningful implications on policy.
